Located only a 6 minute drive from Lake District Castle Inn Hotel, this 6 hour course at Bassenthwaite Lake Station with a foraging expert includes, identifying, picking and tasting a range of wild species and cooking them into a feast at the end of the day.
Forage and Cook at Bassenthwaite Lake Station 2025
The full day Forage and Cook course provides the experience of discovering, identifying, and gathering wild ingredients, followed by cooking them into a hearty meal. Ideal for those seeking a comprehensive foraging adventure, all workshops focus on the 4 ‘F’s of Foraging: Fungi, Fruit, Flowers, and Foliage. The day involves extensive walking, often covering up to 5km on uneven terrain, so please consider mobility issues before purchasing tickets. These sessions are not suitable for children. No prior foraging experience is necessary.
