Wild Swimming
Grab your towel for an invigorating lake swim in Bassenthwaite Lake. Take a refreshing plunge into the fresh water as you soak in the majestic Cumbrian mountains such as Skiddaw, Grisedale Pike and Blencathra. Take the A591 on the lake’s eastern side and follow a public footpath to the shore. Our reception team can issue swimmers with the licence to swim and we’d recommend swimmers to check United Utilities about Algae blooms. Take care while enjoying a dip and urge weak swimmers to stay safe.
