Official 2027 Tour de France in Cumbria
The 2027 Tour de France is set to be one of the most exciting sporting weekends the UK has ever seen, and the Lake District will play a starring role in the men’s Grand Départ.
• Friday 2 July 2027: The men’s Tour de France will begin in Edinburgh and finish in Carlisle, marking the first stage of the world’s greatest cycling race to bring riders through northern Britain.
• Saturday 3 July 2027: Stage Two will start in Keswick, right here in the heart of the Lake District. Cyclists will then travel through stunning countryside across Cumbria and Lancashire before finishing on The Strand in Liverpool.
This historic Grand Départ weekend places the Lake District right at the centre of global sporting attention, offering visitors a rare chance to witness elite cycling in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world.
